Titanium Ring For Men
Which material is better for a man’s wedding ring.?
My fiance and I picked out style. It comes in platinum, gold and titanium. Platinum is too expensive. I like the white gold. He prefers titanium because it is 15% the cost of white gold. I want something strong that will last our lifetime. Any opinions?
White gold is better than Titanium! While it is a soft metal, plenty of men get it and wear it for ages! My parents have been married 25 years and my dads band still looks great (and he never takes it off)! That being said, white gold can yellow over time and will need to be rhodium dipped to restore its color. That happens because its not a pure metal, its an alloy (mix of metals). But dipping is easy and quick and any jeweler can restore it back for you so it doesn’t have to be a deal breaker.
I know your fiance is leaning towards the titanium because of the price. Mine did that too! Until I told him that it looked like more like a fashion ring you find in the case at Hot Topic than a wedding band and he said “hm, you’re right!”. He also stopped feeling as bad about the price of a nice ring when I pointed out that we as girls get 2 rings, while they only get one. And he does have to wear it for the rest of his life so it has to be something he can see himself wearing now and also as an old man some day! 
If Platinum is out of your price range, try Palladium. Its recently becoming quite popular, especially by luxury jewelers and watch companies. It is in the platinum family yet it is more along the lines of gold in terms of price.
Because it is a pure metal, not an alloy like white gold, it will never yellow or need to be dipped. Its also strong and durable!
And it looks great! Its got that great white color like Platinum. We bought one for my husband-to-be and I couldn’t be happier! Our wedding is Saturday and he is so excited to finally be able to wear his ring!
So, my suggestions are either white gold or palladium.
